Mountain Chalet

Located in the North Carolina high country, this mountain residence interprets regional materials—stone, bark, and cedar—with refined craftsmanship and abundant natural light. Influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright’s choreographed entry sequences and Edwin Lutyens’ preference for asymmetrical movement within a symmetrical structure, the design leads guests through unfolding spaces to reveal expansive golf course views. A gracious rear porch with a walkthrough fireplace underscores the home’s role as a bridge between architectural artistry, tradition, and the convivial spirit of mountain living.
